With one of the most unique positions and the best views in Cusco, the Palacio Manco Capac is a delightful boutique hotel set on the hillside above the city. Made up of only 5 rooms and surrounded by quiet gardens and eucalyptus forest, it’s a tranquil escape from the bustling city below.

The Palacio Manco Capac is positioned above Cusco on the slopes of San Cristobal hill, halfway between the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman and the Plaza de Armas. The hotel is built on the foundations of the palace belonging to the founder of the Inca Empire and overlooks the pretty San Cristobal Church and Square. The hotel’s tranquil position means it’s not as convenient for restaurants in the evenings, but then again it’s only a 10 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride to the Plaza de Armas.

Set within a nineteenth century republican country mansion, the hotel has a relaxing and homely feel to it. Guests are encouraged to sit and relax by the fire in the cosy restaurant and sitting room and to walk amongst the gardens to visit the hotel’s pet alpacas and llamas.
The hotel’s 5 rooms are positioned around a small courtyard which looks out over Cusco and have windows facing the hotel’s gardens or original Inca platforms. All are spacious and decorated in the style of a country retreat, with carved furniture and doors, wooden floors and soft upholstery and textiles.

Apart from the beautiful views and tranquil setting, we also like the fact that the manager of the hotel is on site to offer advice and recommendations and will organise additional activities for guests, whether it be cooking lessons, barbecues in the gardens, yoga or cycling.

Great views, tranquil setting.

It's a walk or taxi ride from the centre of Cusco.
