Belmond’s second hotel in Cusco and the more modern sister-property to the Monasterio is the luxurious Palacio Nazarenas. Offering all-suite accommodation set within a restored palace and seventeenth century convent, it is undoubtedly the most lavish of Cusco’s hotels and the place to go to be well and truly pampered.

The hotel is located almost next door to the Monasterio (a secret passage runs between the two buildings) in the tranquil Plaza Nazarenas; just a short walk away from the Plaza de Armas and downhill from the arty, bohemian district of San Blas. The hotel is also just across from the Museum of Pre-Colombian Art, with its collection of artefacts dating back 3000 years.

The Palace has 55 suites, set around a total of 7 cloistered courtyards. The largest of these hosts the hotel’s outdoor-heated swimming pool, bar and restaurant, which serves modern Peruvian Cuisine. More modern in style than the Monasterio, the hotel blends original features such as Inca Walls and colonial architecture with contemporary Andean artwork and stylish fittings.

Suites range from the smaller junior suites, with a small sitting area, through to grand master suites with separate living areas and private terraces. Each is light and spacious and comes with a number of amenities and services attached, including 24-hour butler service (meaning you won’t lift a finger during your stay), private bar, personal iPad and oxygen enrichment to help guests to acclimatise to the high altitudes.

In addition to the pool, bar and restaurant the hotel also has a full-oxygenated spa, boutique and games room, complete with snooker table and video games.

Unrivalled service and facilities
