Our preferred estancia on the Peninsular, the Estancia Rincon Chico is a great place to get a feel for what it is all about, coming to this area of the world. The focus here is on privacy and intimate views of the wildlife of this beautiful area. Making use of their private beach and large property, it is the perfect place to come and see wildlife and spend some time out in this windswept wilderness.

Set slightly inland from the coast, the Estancia Rincon Chico is the only estancia on the Peninsula that does not accept outside visitors and is all the better for it. This small estancia has really tried to raise the level of the accommodation and communal areas to cater for tourism and what it is to be in this spectacular and rugged scenery.

The rooms, while simple (as is the norm for estancia accommodation), are well appointed and are just about big enough. The communal areas are fantastic and feel really like being at home with comfortable sofas and a small fire…just what is needed after a long walk or day out on the peninsular.

The Estancia Rincon Chico has tried hard to try and create a place that appeals to all types of traveller with a series of walking trails across their land for keen walkers, mountain biking circuits and horse riding nearby. For those with families then there is also a small cottage that is set on the only disabled access beach on the island that has two rooms and views from your bed to elephant seals out on the beach in front! Needless to say, we are big fans!

Great ambience, good location, access to easy beach, good food, great activities, access to scientists
