Where to head to for a beach holiday in South America...

With Atlantic, Pacific and Caribbean coastlines, South America is not short of a good beach or two. Whether you’re looking for a remote beach getaway or a bustling seaside resort, there are plenty of options to suit every taste.

Brazil definitely holds the title for the most varied coastline, stretching from the windswept beaches of the south, ideal for surfing and watersports, to the coves and islands of the Costa Verde and the seemingly endless beaches of Bahia and the Northern coast.

Meanwhile Colombia’s sun-soaked Caribbean Coast has to be one of the most picturesque, with perfect white sands and crystal waters. Peru and Chile have their own stretches of coastline, which are an ideal spot for a bit of rest and relaxation at the end of a holiday and from Argentina, the buzzy beach resort of Punta del Este in Uruguay is only a short hop away.
