Family Holidays in Argentina

A brief overview of where to head if you are travelling in a group...

As a land full of Italian and Spanish immigrants, it comes as no surprise that Argentina caters to family holidays very well. The enthusiasm that is apparent with all Argentine families can be seen simply wandering through any city, town or village. Over the years, we have often found that the hardest part about planning a trip to Argentina with the family is to try and keep everyone happy; activities for the active, R and R for the weary and peaceful, and so on. This is where Argentina comes into its own.

Many of the locations and trips that are on offer for families in Argentina combine many different possibilities, so, if one person wants to head off for a spa treatment, while another would like to mountain bike, while the other just wants to read, it is all easily arranged.

For older families there is a whole host of activities that might suit, from white water rafting and bungee jumping, to horse riding and walking...plenty to get the lungs and the legs going! Moreover, in the cities and the towns of Argentina such as Buenos Aires or Cordoba, there are interesting snippets of Argentina culture and history that are not overwhelming and are easily absorbed in a day or two.

For those families travelling with smaller children, again, the Argentines have it covered. As most of the people that travel in Argentina are Argentine, many of the hotels and lodges offer care facilities where it is possible, to leave the children under expert supervision for a few hours. This allows parents to have a bit of time to themselves to explore and relax. Quite often these service are free of charge, which also always helps!

From a rooming point of view, many of the hotels offer interconnecting family rooms or separate rooming areas, allowing you to be a family without worrying about making noise or disturbing anyone else. On top of this, more and more hotels in Argentina are now introducing play areas that have computer games and other activities to keep the family amused.
